Planet X Performance and Mullet Engineering have announced the filing of a patent application with the USPTO in Washington, DC for their new “Trinity Starter Bracket” for LS Engines.

Mark S. Sassman, Sr., a federally licensed aircraft mechanic and President of Planet X Performance, and Michael J. Sassman, Purdue University engineering graduate and President of Mullet Engineering, have designed a solution for broken engine block starter mounts on LS engines.

The invention is called the “Trinity Starter Bracket,” which is a product that adds enhanced support for the starter by connecting to the transmission mounting bolts above and rearward of the starter to enhance support for the retrofit bracket. The solution offers a low-cost alternative to current repairs needed for factory and high torque starter damage to the block on LS engines. With the ability to be installed in less than an hour, the bracket will not interfere with other engine components and allows the use of long tube headers without any modifications.

A unique advantage of this invention is that the product can be installed without cutting or modifying the block, allowing it to reinforce the starter installation before the block fails, therefore, preventing damage before it has a chance to occur. This results in peace of mind that the starter will not fail at an inopportune time, whether on the street or at the track.
